Most people think quality failures come with a bang. A belt snaps. A tire tread separates. A machine seizes. I've spent enough years on the receiving end of those situations to tell you: the bang is rarely where the problem started. Most quality failures start with a whisper.
I'm a quality and compliance manager for Continental's industrial business. The question I ask now is simple: What does that phrase mean to you? I'd rather spend ten minutes explaining options than deal with mismatched expectations later. An informed customer asks better questions and makes faster decisions.
Trevor and the $60,000 Tire Batch
Here's what actually happened with the Henry contract. Trevor flagged a potential issue during the internal review. The PO referenced a superseded Continental part number for the 235/55R19 Continental tires. Fair. But communication failure is drift. Drift is a communication failure measured over time. The Henry contract is not an exotic story.
